Andi Jane Emerges with Haunting New Single “Cicada Song”

As the earth trembles with the rare 17-year cicada emergence, Nashville-based Americana artist Andi Jane delivers a perfectly timed new single, “Cicada Song.” Set for release on June 6, 2025, the track is a ghostly neofolk waltz that weaves Southern gothic storytelling with haunting harmonies and acoustic textures.

“It’s a song about coming out of the dirt,” says Jane. “Where your beauty was hidden and your talents suppressed. It’s about shedding your old skin, taking flight, and not being afraid to make noise—even if that noise isn’t pretty.”

Carried by fiddle, upright bass, piano, and Jane’s ethereal vocals, “Cicada Song” isn’t an anthem—it’s an invocation. Both metaphor and melody, it speaks to anyone who has ever felt buried, silenced, or unsure of how to emerge. Written, produced, and performed by Andi Jane, the single features contributions from guitarist Andrew Lambie, fiddler Zach Bunton, and bassist Seth Darby, with mixing and mastering by Eli Meltzer.

Raised in the small town of Trilla, Illinois, Andi Jane has carved out a unique space in the Americana scene with her blend of southern grit and cabaret drama. Now based in Nashville, she continues to turn heads at regional festivals and venues alongside her band, Andi Jane & the Honky-Tonk Cabaret.

“Cicada Song” continues her tradition of offering deeply poetic, often otherworldly narratives set to music that feels as old as the soil and as fresh as the moment. Whether you interpret the song as a mythic metaphor or simply a melancholy nod to misunderstood insects, it offers a powerful reminder: even buried voices can rise—and sing.

“Cicada Song” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
