From Jazz to Funk to Hip-Hop, Sam Redmore Flexes 'On The One'

Driven by support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Quantic, Nightmares On Wax, The Nextmen, Lauren Laverne, Danny Krivit and most prominently Craig CharlesSam Redmore has built a name for himself over the last few years from crafting soul-drenched remixes and reworks of both certified classics and under-the-radar earworms.

‘On The One’ is the first single to drop from his forthcoming album and features the inimitable vocals of poet and rapper Mr Auden Allen, as well as the soul-drenched horns of Renegade Brass Band. Debuted on BBC 6 Music when Sam guested in the mix in April this year, it’s the perfect welcome to the Jalapeno crease and a hot how-do-you-do when introducing Sam’s new record.
Having spent so much time reworking classic after classic it comes as no surprise that production values are high when it comes to Sam's own original material. Announced as a new Jalapeno Records signing at the start of the year, Sam’s debut album will bring the noise in May 2022, with many of the tracks purpose-built for inclusion in his DJ sets – expect a spectrum of cumbia, afrobeat, samba, funk and reggae, through to house, broken beat, disco and everything in between.
